TWO matches remaining, two wins required and a helping hand from the other results. That's the equation facing Kent going into Sunday’s penultimate totesport League game of the season.

Spitfires need to beat newly-crowned Division 1 champions Glamorgan Dragons in their Cardiff backyard this weekend and beat Northamptonshire in the final home league game under lights on Tuesday week to stand a chance of staving off the drop.

At best, Kent can muster 28 points but should Warwickshire or Northamptonshire win one of their remaining two matches or Essex take points from their last fixture Kent’s relegation fate will be sealed.

The Spitfires will hope to include Michael Bevan for Sunday’s crunch tie at Sophia Gardens after he missed the rain-ruined visit to Manchester with a hip injury.

The match will also mark the last Kent appearance for Kiwi fast bowler Ian Butler who will join up with New Zealand’s Champions Trophy squad thereafter.

Spinners Rob Ferley and James Tredwell will also be named in the Kent party for the trip to Wales.
