Kent's resurgence in the Friends Provident Trophy and rise up the LV Championship table is born out by the latest MVP (Most Valuable Player) rankings issued by the Professional Cricketers’ Association.
The new rankings, which take into account performances with bat, ball and in the field in all forms of the game, have Kent vice-captain Martin van Jaarsveld way out in front with a seven-point lead over his Spitfires team-mate, Yasir Arafat.
Another Kent all-rounder Ryan McLaren lies third in the overall bowling rankings, while Kent keeper Geraint Jones is second only to Surrey’s Jonathan Batty in the wicketkeeper list.
