BECKENHAM FC secretary Peter Palmer has hit out at the Kent County Football Association’s choice of venue for this season’s final of the Lea-Ray sponsored Kent Senior Trophy.
Palmer’s club take on rivals Thamesmead in the final at Whitstable on Saturday, April 16. Palmer believes a closer venue should have been found.
Mr Palmer said: “I know the KCFA tried for Bromley and Welling but both are involved in ground-sharing. There was also talk of the final being played under floodlights during midweek, or a Saturday night, which wasn’t acceptable to us.”
He added: “It’s a shame that the venue could not have been decided on the toss of a coin, as is the practice for deciding the venue of the Kent Senior Cup final.”
