Village team prepare for 'special' Lord's final

EYNSFORD Cricket Club play the biggest match in the club’s history on Sunday.

The team take on Yorkshire side Sheriff Hutton Bridge at Lord’s in the final of the npower Village Cup and skipper Ben Wise – one of three brothers in the team – is determined to enjoy the match whatever the result.

He said: "We’re nowhere near as nervous as we were in the semi-final.

"We didn’t want to lose at the semi-final stage and now we’ve made it to Lord’s we can have our day out there.

"It’ll be a special experience. We want to win but whatever the outcome, I’m sure we’ll have a fantastic time."
