GILLINGHAM boss Andy Hessenthaler is being made to sweat by the Football Association as they decide whether or not to charge him with bringing the game into disrepute.
A month after the Hessenthaler was reported by referee Clive Penton for allegedly gesturing to Norwich supporters at the end of a 1-0 win at Priestfield on February 25, the FA have still to make up their mind.
Last week Hessenthaler was granted an extension to the March 13 deadline imposed by the FA for him to submit a written explanation as to what happened. That explanation was received at the weekend.
An FA spokesman confirmed: “We have now received Andy Hessenthaler’s observations which are under consideration as to whether we proceed or not.” A decision could be made next week.
