KENT made the most of ideal batting conditions and a tiring Sussex attack to post a mammoth 527 all out by lunch on the second day of Canterbury Cricket Week.

Left-hander Matthew Walker was last man out, caught at long leg, for a season's best 157 from 254 balls and with 16 fours and a brace of sixes.

Amjad Khan gave him excellent support with an unusually patient 29, while Rob Joseph (7) and Simon Cusden (12) also chipped in as Kent posted their biggest score of the summer to date.
