GILLINGHAM'S in-form striker Rod Wallace has a no better than 50-50 chance of playing in the match against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
Wallace, who has scored seven goals in nine matches, pulled out of training on Thursday with a pain on the side of his shin. He will undergo a late fitness test.
Meanwhile, player-manager Andy Hessenthaler has told the club's young guns to bide their time as he assembles his more experienced players for a final push on a play-off place.
Youngsters Danny Spiller, Richard Rose and Leon Johnson will all be kept waiting as the Gills boss abides by the old maxim of there being no substitute for experience.
Hessenthaler, fired up by the 1-0 win at Watford, stressed: “Until we’re out of the reckoning, I’ll keep playing my strongest side. We’re seven points behind Wolves with a game in hand."
“The temptation is there to bring in our younger players and before the end of the season the likes of Danny Spiller, Richard Rose and Leon Johnson will get their chance."
