Ramsgate manager Jim Ward is hoping to extend goalkeeper Jamie Turner's loan spell.

Turner joined the Rams from Welling United just before Christmas and produced another excellent performance in their 4-0 victory at Thamesmead on Tuesday in the Isthmian League Cup.

Ward said: "Jamie's loan ends in a couple of weeks but I am hopeful that Welling will allow him to stay longer than that. He has done very well for us."

Ward's squad came through the Thamesmead unscathed, injury-wise, ahead of this Saturday's home league game with Boreham Wood.

But the Thamesmead match proved to be the last game in a Rams shirt for 22-year-old midfielder Seb Schoburgh, who had moved to Southwood from Maidstone United earlier in the season.

Ward said: "We have had a good look at Seb, but we have now decided to release him and give one or two of the local lads a chance."
