Ramsgate boss Jim Ward was this week waiting to find out the extent of on-loan striker Jay May’s arm injury, picked up in Saturday’s 4-1 home Ryman League, Premier Division defeat against Tooting and Mitcham.
May suffered a kick on the forearm, which swelled up immediately, after making his second start since arriving from Bromley.
Refelecting on Saturday’s heavy home defeat, Ward said: "We have had better days, and it’s how we react.
"It was poor, and I can’t hide from that, and won’t. It was a bad day at the office. but I’m not panicking.
"I am continually looking to tweak my squad and looking to improve.
"I had four trialists at training this week who I wanted to have a look at."
Ward has shaken things up, with left-sided midfielder Stuart Vahid joining Bulmers Cider Kent League side Deal on loan while strike duo Aaron Firth and Dan Dolton could make similar moves to Herne Bay.
Former Sittingbourne captain and left-back Joe Dowley has returned to Bourne Park.
Ward explained "Some players are good at one club and not at another. In my opinion it just wasn’t working for the boy here.
"Stuart hasn’t been figuring and needs games, while Aaron and Dan could go to Herne Bay, but I will make a decision about that later in the week."
