Watford 2 - Gillingham 2

Danny Spiller's first league earned Gillingham a share of the spoils as the side twice came from behind to snatch a point at bottom of the table at Watford on Saturday.

The young midfielder headed home in the 63rd minute to level the scores at 2-2 in a pulsating second half.

Gillingham made the worst possible start when slack marking enabled Icelandic international Heidar Helguson to head home in the seventh minute.

Gillingham produced a much improved second half display and equalised in the 52nd minute through Paul Shaw.

Watford were level within a minute through Danny Webber and the goal looked good enough to win the game until Spiller intervened.

Watford were reduced to 10-men in the 89th minute when Neal Ardley was sent off for a professional foul on Mamady Sidibe.

Attendance: 12,793.
