Canterbury were relegated when they were thrashed 8-1 by second place East Grinstead.

The bottom placed EHL Premier Division side were no match for their hosts, as they trailed 8-0 before Ben Hare scored a consolation goal with two minutes remaining.

In the EHL National South Division, Bromley and Beckenham were treated to a similar reception by champions Exeter University.

The students scored six unanswered goals, four in the second half, to secure the title ahead of Sevenoaks and Holcombe, who faced each other on Saturday.

Sevenoaks got off to the perfect start when George Torry scored after 10 minutes, and the same player scored again on 30 minutes to give the away side a 2-0 half-time lead.

Holcombe’s Yasser Khan pulled a goal back with seven minutes remaining, but Sevenoaks hung on to secure second spot.

In the South Premier League Division 1, Maidstone were held to a 3-3 draw at relegated Richmond in their final game of the season.

The point ensures survival for Maidstone, who stay out of the relegation play-off zone on goal difference.
