Margate suffered their second home defeat of the Ryman League Premier Division season after a 2-1 loss to Bury Town.

Shane Tolley stunned the home support after opening the scoring within 10 seconds but Gate were level shortly after when Jack Sammoutis scored his first of the season firing into the roof of the net after superb work from Warren Whitely.

Margate continued to press for the winner but got caught out by a Bury counter attack. Billy Clark was fouled inside the box but Jordan Patrick took advantage of the referee’s advantage and slotted the ball past Craig Holloway.

On Sunday Thamesmead Town suffered a 4-1 defeat at title-chasing Kingstonian.

Javal Campbell scored a consolation four minutes from time for Mead, who were only 1-0 down with 14 minutes to play.

Ramsgate continued their superb start to the Division 1 South season after a convincing 3-0 victory over mid-table Worthing took them fourth.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Tom Chapman, restored to his more advance roll, finished well from a Jack Parter cross.

Parter was once again influential for the second goal, this time setting up Aaron Millbank who turned home from close range.

The Rams hit their third just three minutes later as Millbank turned provider after a run down the right before squaring the ball to Ian Pulman to wrap up a convincing home victory.

Faversham Town’s struggles continued as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at basement-boys Corinthian Casuals.

The hosts took a surprise lead, but despite Luke Harvey restoring parity nine minutes before the break, the Lilywhites could not find a winner and slipped to ninth.

Herne Bay produced a gutsy display to record a 3-3 draw at title-chasing Crawley Down Gatwick, despite playing much of the game with 10-men after Joe Kennett’s red card.

Sam Hasler cancelled out an early Down opener on eight minutes, but the hosts restored their lead from a penalty three minutes before the break, with Kennett seeing red soon after.

Dean Grant made it 2-2 shortly before the hour but Crawley looked to have secured the points 13 minutes from time, only for a Danny Walder penalty five minutes from time to earn a share of the points.

Folkestone Invicta climbed out of the drop-zone after a 1-0 win over Whitstable Town in the seaside derby.

Phil Stevenson grabbed the only goal shortly after the hour mark to lift Invicta up to 20th, just two places behind the Oystermen.

In Division 1 North VCD Athletic made it 12 wins from 13 games with a 2-1 success at Dereham Town.

James Duckworth put the Vickers ahead on 22 minutes and despite the hosts levelling just before the half-hour, Peter Smith grabbed what proved to be the wimnner on the stroke of half-time.
