CANTERBURY slumped to an emphatic 3-0 defeat to inconsistent Olton & West Warwicks in the midlands on Saturday.
Despite boasting a record of five wins and five losses going into the game, Canterbury’s mid-table rivals took the lead within two minutes.
The city side went 2-0 down in the 17th minute and despite halting the home side’s momentum, they conceded a third after 44 minutes when Olton converted a penalty corner.
Canterbury are tied for fifth in the English Premier Division with Ipswich.
Sevenoaks closed the gap on second placed Swansea in the Women’s South Division after a 3-1 win at Taunton Vale.
Sarah Pinkstone scored the opener for Oaks but it was all square in the second half when Karen Turnbull scored.
Goals from Elizabeth Key and Nicola Lloyd made it 4-1 and they are now just two points behind the second placed team.
High-flying Swansea dropped points after losing 4-2 at Maidstone.
After conceding a goal on three minutes, Rachel Thompson levelled it up within 60 seconds and further strikes from Suzanne Leaning, Cara Brogan and Helen Brown made it 4-1.
Swansea pulled one back but were unable to deny Stones the three points.
The women’s cup fourth round saw Sevenoaks lose 3-0 to Barnes Hounslow & Ealing on Saturday.
