WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has pulled off a major transfer coup with the signing of former Gillingham midfielder Richard Carpenter.
Pennock made his move immediately after the player's release from Brighton.
"It's a great signing for the club," said Pennock.
"Richard is someone I know well and I know he will bring plenty of quality to the squad.
"It shows how well we have done this season that he is willing to come and play for Welling."
The Wings will be hoping that Carpenter can record a seventh promotion in his career.
Carpenter has been promoted with every club he has played for. He went up three times with Brighton and was also promoted at Gillingham, Fulham and Cardiff.
