Manchester 32 Westcombe Park 27
WESTCOMBE Park slipped to fourth in National League 2 after suffering a 32-27 defeat against leaders Manchester on Saturday.
Manchester started strongly and quickly opened up a 12 point lead after scoring two tries and adding one conversion.
The visitors hit back through a penalty from James Whittingham before Tom Hayman scored Westcombe's first try of the afternoon.
Whittingham added the extras.
The away side finished the first half strongly with Ian Hardcastle going over and Whittingham adding the conversion.
Westcombe continued where they left off at the start of the second-half when Whittingham scored and converted his own try to strecth their lead to 12 points.
The hosts refused to lie down and closed the gap with a converted try before Whittingham scored another penalty.
Manchester then regained the lead after scoring a penalty and adding a converted try to give them a two-point advantage.
A late penalty completed Manchester's impressive second-half fight back.
