Former Haringey Greyhounds forward Chris Wiggins won’t be joining Invicta Dynamos, according to head coach Kevin Parrish.
The 21-year-old has been without a club since leaving the north London side due to work commitments but is likely to sign for either Bracknell or Slough instead.
"Chris is an excellent player," Parrish admitted. "He’s got good size and good skill and I’d love to have him at our rink, just as I would love to have 15 of the other top players in the National League.
"Every half decent player available gets linked with Invicta and I have spoken to him but he lives in Guildford and his commute would be the same as it was to Haringey.
"He’s most likely to sign with a team in his area but maybe we’ll have a look at situation again next summer."
Invicta face Haringey this Sunday at the Ice Bowl, looking to secure passage to the final of the ENIHL Cup.
Parrish’s side moved a step closer last weekend after Martin Melichercik and Milan Kostolny hat-tricks had put paid to Chelmsford’s hopes in the competition.
Parrish added: "It was a good game of hockey between two well-balanced sides but our experience showed through and Milan and Martin carried over what we had practised in training.
"A win against Haringey would give us a great chance to pick up some early silverware and after some of the comments from Haringey’s coach and players after our game two weeks ago, we’d love to throw the comments straight back at them."
Ian Rowlands will start the game in net for Invicta.
