GILLS' Division 1 status remains in the balance after a goalless first half in Milton Keynes.

Both sides have looked good going forward with neither defence looking convincing.

Wayne Gray, Malvin Kamara and Wade Small have looked lively up front for the home side but it was Dons' Ben Harding who came closest on a couple of occasions.

Mamady Sidibe should have put Gills ahead on 28 minutes but he delayed his shot and Shola Oyedele got in a last-ditch tackle.

Gills best chance of the half came in the 34th minute when Hessenthaler smashed in a shot from 20 yards and Dons keeper David Martin sprang and plucked the ball out the air.
