Gillingham slipped to a third successive league defeat on a disappointing afternoon against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park.

Gills were much the better side in the first half but conceded a goal against the run of playin the 43rd minute when Kevin Cooper hit them on the break. The same player increased the lead in the 53rd minute and when Michael Hughes made it three nil in the 61st minute there was no way back.

Defender Guy butters scored a late consolation goal for Gillingham in the 82nd minute.
