PENNOCK: Still looking for first win as boss
PENNOCK: Still looking for first win as boss

ADRIAN PENNOCK takes charge of his first home match as Welling manager on Saturday with the visit of Bishop's Stortford.

The 33-year-old picked up his first league point in the 1-1 draw at Hayes last weekend but is still searching for his first victory.

Lee Spiller could be recalled to the starting line-up with Tim Hambley due to see a knee specialist about his long-term problem.

Danny Slatter (dead leg) and Gary Carter (illness) should be fit, while keeper Charlie Mitten is also in contention after recovering from a thigh strain.

Pennock has drafted in midfielder Michael Phillips, who he knows from his Gillingham days, from Worthing. Phillips had a trial with Weymouth but has joined up with the Wings on a short-term basis.

Pennock insists his side are well prepared for the match.

He said: "We had Bishop's Stortford watched last week and they are a good passing side. But the emphasis is on what we do and I want them to worry about us."
