Lewes v Welling
NEW Welling manager Adrian Pennock is relishing his first game in charge of the team at Lewes on Saturday.
Pennock's bow as manager was put on hold after last weekend's match at Weston-super-Mare was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Wings boss will hand debuts to Chris Moore, Matt Lovell and Danny Knowles, while another new face, Nick Harrhy is likely to be on the bench.
Pennock said: "I can't wait for that first game now. I'm relishing it really. I've had an extra week with the players and it has also given the injured lads another week off."
Pennock wasted no time moving in the transfer market and agreed a one-month loan deal for Lovell, a left-sided midfielder with Gravesend, when Shaun Hale left the club last week.
He moved to sign Moore when defender James Smith turned down a contract offer after being approached by two Nationwide Conference clubs.
Pennock added: "I'm disappointed James left but he had already made his mind up. Chris won every player-of-the-year award going at Gravesend last year and will do well for the club. Lovell has a good left-peg and wanted first-team football."
Knowles, a young keeper with Gillingham, has signed as cover for Charlie Mitten – out for three weeks with a thigh strain - while striker Harrhy, who has netted nine goals in four reserve games at Gravesend, has signed as cover for Tommy Tyne and Paul Booth after Jo Flack's loan from Stevenage ended.
Tim Hambley (knee) is Pennock's only other injury doubt after he came off injured in the New Year’s Day win over Margate.
