Bath City v Welling
WELLING assistant manager Phil Handford has praised the attitude of the squad after their first win in 12 league games last Saturday.
The Wings won 3-0 at Weston-super-Mare in Blue Square South and Handford was impressed by the application shown.
"I sensed before the game that there was a determination among the squad," said Handford, who took charge with new manager Andy Ford on a pre-arranged business trip.
"We had two really hard sessions fitness-wise leading up to the match. The players enjoyed that, although it was hard work, and then they showed determination and guts in the game."
Welling were boosted by three debutants at Weston as Ford has wasted no time in reshaping the squad.
Defender Max Hustwick has joined from Walton Casuals, midfielder Ohran Stewart played in the same Beckenham side as Ellis Green and forward Amos Foyewa signed from AFC Hornchurch.
Handford added: "The three new players came in and did really well. They have settled in quickly and looked like they have been here all year."
Welling travel to Bath in Blue Square South on Saturday.
