Welling midfielder Ryan Johnson will have more tests on Tuesday in a bid to find out the extent of his health problems.
Johnson collapsed on the pitch during the pre-match warm-up for Welling's FA Trophy win over Weymouth last month after having a fit.
Initial tests failed to find anything wrong so he was due to visit a London hospital just two days before Christmas for further examinations.
"It was a strange one and something that has never happened to me before, and hopefully it will never happen again," said Johnson, speaking about the incident for the first time.
"I can't remember too much what happened to be honest with you. I felt fine getting changed; everything was normal, I put my boots on and went out and did the warm-up. Then at the end of the warm-up, once we had finished working with Jimmy Dack, I had a bit of a funny turn.
"I've heard a few different stories from the lads and Dave (Lawson) but I can't remember anything myself.
"I don't really know when I came round but I imagine I came round just before when the game was going to kick-off.
"When I was in the ambulance on the way to hospital I was fine. They told me I'd had a fit and then I had some blood tests and was told they were fine along with my sugar levels.
"I've got a few more scans on Tuesday night and hopefully they can tell me what it was and whether it will happen again. Hopefully it is something that could have happened to anyone and it was a one-off.
"Obviously I don't want it to affect my football, I want to get back playing as quickly as I can.
"It would be funny if I could see it all on camera now - I'll tell you that for nothing! I can laugh at it now, but I'm really grateful for all the help everyone gave me at the time."
