Wings outclass Weston to win on the road

Weston-super-Mare 0 Welling 3

Free-scoring Welling made it 14 goals in three games with a convincing Blue Square South win at Weston on Saturday.

Goals from Sanchez Ming, Ryan Johnson and Charlie Sheringham ensured the Wings go into the final two games of the season still with a chance of finishing in the top seven.

After a dull opening Welling took the lead seven minutes before half-time when Ming exchanged passes with Sam Hurrell and slid in to convert from 12 yards.

Johnson's spectacular left-foot volley from 25 yards in first-half injury-time put the Wings 2-0 ahead.

Weston squandered a good opening to pull one back in the 53rd minute when Darren Mullings fluffed his lines in front of goal and Welling keeper David Wilkinson remained a spectatator throughout.

Sheringham added a touch of class to proceedings eight minutes from time with a dazzling third goal.

Hurrell found the Wings' leading scorer on the edge of the box and Sheringham flicked the ball over Sam Johnson with his first touch, went past keeper Luke Purnell with his second before finishing from an acute anlge with his third.

Bromley 4 Team Bath 0

Bromley produced a good performance to comfortably beat Team Bath at Hayes Lane.

Kenny Beaney opened the scoring after 16 minutes in a typical mid-table end of season encounter when he collected the ball on the edge of the box and curled a firm shot beyond keeper Jake Meredith.

It was 2-0 seconds after half-time when Warren McBean made space for himself in the box before finishing well.

The game was put beyond the visitors - who are resigning from the league at the end of the campaign - in the 62nd minute when McBean touched the ball over the line after a fine run and cross-shot from the impressive Ali Chaaban.

Further gloss was added to the scoreline six minutes later when Adrian Stone perfectly lobbed Meredith after a good move involving Chaaban and Ryan Hall.
