Welling boss Jamie Day has averted a striker crisis by signing Tyrone Marsh on loan from Oxford until December.
The Wings are without the suspended Kiernon St Aimie for the opening three games while summer signing Charlie Penny faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
It means 20-year-old Marsh will lead the line in Welling's Vanarama Conference opener against AFC Telford United at Park View Road on Saturday.
"We had to dip into the loan market," said Day. "Charlie Penny probably needs an operation which is going to leave him out for three to four months so we've lost a striker there.
"Kieron St Aimie is suspended for the first three games so as it stood we didn't have a recognised striker at the club who is available for the first few matches.
"We needed to get someone in to fill that gap and when Kieron is back we've still got another forward player.
"Tyrone is someone we were interested in last season so I'm pleased to bring him to the club.
"He has lots of ability and I look forward to working with him during the first half of this season. I'm sure he'll do well for the club."
