WELLING player-manager Neil Smith has turned his attentions to finalising his squad as the countdown continues to the club's Blue Square South opener.

The Wings host Bognor on August 11 in their first league game and Smith is looking to complete the make-up of his squad.

Smith is close to agreeing a deal with defender Tony Sinclair and has also offered a new deal to Chris Moore.

He said: "I didn't really know what to expect from Chris Moore but he has put some of the trialists and younger players to shame. His experience will really help someone like Tony Sinclair."

Exciting winger Mucu was due to play a second trial game for Barnet on Tuesday but Smith still wants him to sign for Welling.

Former Fisher and Dulwich forward Omari Coleman looks set to play again for the Wings at Erith Town on Saturday with Andrew Sam back to full fitness after illness.

Smith is also keen to keep Millwall youngster Ross Gaynor, who scored in Welling's 2-1 defeat at Maldon. He is still looking at the likes of Seb Schoburgh, Mark Grad and Sam Keevil.

Former Wings midfielder Adrian Clarke is also training with the club but is short of full fitness.
