WELLING United boss Adrian Pennock has used his close ties with Gillingham to sign youngster Luke Howell on loan.

The 18-year-old is currently part of the youth set-up at Priestfield and has been a regular in the reserve side this season.

Howell made his debut on Saturday and gave an assured display as the Wings went second in the table with a 2-1 win over Lewes.
