Wings surrender lead but take a point

Welling 1 Maidenhead 1

Honours were even between two teams with Blue Square South play-off aspirations at Park View Road on Saturday.

Charlie Sheringham's 34th minute opener was cancelled out by Maidenhead's Richard Pacquette on the stroke of half-time.

It was one of the most one-sided first halves of the season as Welling dominated both possession and chances.

Sanchez Ming and Sonny Cobbs both went close before Jack Parkinson's header from Lee Blackburn's corner was parried by keeper Shane Gore and Sheringham prodded home the loose ball.

The visitors levelled with virtually their first attack when Pacquette had the freedom of the penalty area to tap home a cross-shot.

Chances were few and far between after the break, although Welling had two good penalty appeals turned down - the latter amazingly resulting in Balckburn being booked for a dive.

The visitors had plenty of possesion in the last 10 minutes as decisions went against the Wings with the home side's frustration showing late on when manager Andy Ford was sent to the stands.

Wings defender Matt McEntegart also found his way into referee Kendall's notebook but somehow the visitors escaped without a caution to show for a robust display.

Bromley 0 Hampton & Richmond 2

Meanwhile, 10-man Bromley suffered another 2-0 defeat - this time at home to Hampton & Richmond.

The opener came after just three minutes as poor marking from a left-wing free-kick allowed Lawrence Yaku to score.

It was always going to be an uphill battle for the Lillywhites after Luke I'Anson was dismissed by referee John Busby after only 20 minutes for a second booking.

The inevitable second goal came in the 48th minute as Ian Hodges headed in a corner at the near post.
