Wings welcome back missing duo

Welling v Bishop's Stortford

Defender Sonny Cobbs and midfielder Jack Parkinson both return to the Welling squad for the Blue Square South clash at home to Bishop's Stortford.

The duo missed the midweek 4-3 FA Trophy defeat at Hednesford through suspension and being cup tied respectively.

But manager Andy Ford's delight at having the pair back is tempered by the loss of Sanchez Ming and Lee Blackburn to suspension.

It means another re-jig for Ford, who was forced into personnel changes for the Hednesford game.

Ford said: "We have to tweak it again but I need to make sure I get it right.

"We had a great turnout for our last home game against Bromley and hopefully a few of those will come back again.

"Anyone who came to that game will see what we are trying to do."

Without his normal left-sided line-up, Ford felt that Hednesford were able to expose the Wings but that his side showed enough character in the second half to suggest that their league form is not about to fade away.

"Hednesford exposed us down the left and all credit to them," said Ford. "Graeme Andrews played despite being ill, if the game had been last Saturday he wouldn't have played.

"I wish I'd been able to see Hednesford before as I would have lined up differently.

"I didn't change shape or tactics in the second half, we showed character and spirit."

Ford is unlikely to make additions before the weekend but is keen to sign a left-sided midfielder to bolster his squad, in addition to the possible return of Brentford forward Moses Ademola.
