Wings youth player in road tragedy

A teenage Welling United player described by the club as having "undoubted potential" has been killed in a car accident.

George Mosedale, who played for the Wings' under-18 side and had been with the club for the past three seasons, died in an accident in Keston, near Bromley, on Tuesday evening.

He represented the first team in the Kent Senior Cup against Margate last season.

A statement on the club's website said: "George was a very popular member of the team and had a great presence, both on and off the field. Our sympathies extend to his family and friends."

Friends have been posting tributes on a website which has been created to commemorate George.

One commented: "Your smile will never be far from my mind and your big blue eyes. I'm sure you’re entertaining everyone up there."
