Wolves 2 Charlton 0

MANAGER Alan Pardew demanded a steely approach from his players after accusing Wolves of roughing up his side at Molineux in Saturday.

Defeat ended Charlton's eight-match unbeaten run and dropped the club to third in the Championship.

"We need a steely approach and a steely attitude because I felt we were roughed up today, said Pardew.

"I would have been a lot happier had we given as good as we received. We're still learning about the Championship but I hope it's not a long learning curve."

After squandering a host of missed first half chances, with Luke Varney mis-kicking in front of goal after five minutes, Charlton fell behind in the first minute of the second half when former player Jay Bothroyd scored at the near post from Karl Henry's pass.

Henry turned goalscorer in the 85th minute with a clinical finish

Charlton: Weaver, Mills, Fortune, Bougherra (Thomas 71mins), Powell (Sodje 36mins), Ambrose (Todorov 70mins), Semedo, Zheng, Reid, Iwelumo. Subs not used: Randolph, McLeod. Attendance: 24,058
