CANTERBURY went fifth in the Premier Division after a 5-3 win over Ipswich at Polo Farm on Saturday lunchtime.

Helen Grant gave the home side the lead after just two minutes only for Ipswich to level three minutes later.

Natasha Brennan restored the city club’s lead less than 60 seconds later and Sarah Kerly made it 3-1 before the break.

A penalty corner from Ipswich reduced the arrears on 50 minutes and they drew level four minutes later, only for Grant to bag her second just after the hour mark and Cathy Gilliat-Smith to add a killer fifth a minute later.

Sevenoaks remain fifth in the Women's National South Division after securing a 4-1 win over Swansea.

Katy Hornsby and Jet Van Zalen scored two goals apiece. Katrin Budd got Swansea's consolation.

A hat-trick from captain Kirsty Hotson guided Maidstone to a 5-2 win over Taunton Vale.

Cara Brogan and Jesssica Cremin completed the rout. Karen Turnbull and Anna Miller got Taunton's goals.
