POLICE in Jamaica have confirmed that former Kent cricketer Bob Woolmer died of natural causes and was not murdered.
The Pakistan cricket coach died after being found unconscious in his hotel room in Kingston in the West Indies on Sunday, March 18, just hours after his side suffered a humiliating defeat to Ireland in the World Cup.
Initially, a pathologist concluded the 58-year-old had been strangled. Reports also surfaced that he had been poisoned.
But Lucius Thomas, Jamaican Police Commissioner has now said that three different expert opinions have led to the conclusion that the original pathologist's report was incorrect.
Mr Woolmer formerly lived in Tunbridge Wells and once owned a shop in Tonbridge High Street.
