SANCHO: "Gillingham are a selling club and they will sell for the right price..."

GILLINGHAM'S 29-year-old World Cup star Brent Sancho has admitted that his future may lie away from Priestfield.

Sancho, who has a year to run on his contract at Priestfield, played in every minute of Trinidad & Tobago’s World Cup campaign and his performances have earned the defender plenty of global attention.

He said: “For me to play in the World Cup was tremendous and it’s good for me and my position as it puts me on the map as a footballer. Hopefully I can go from strength to strength now and the sky’s the limit."

He added: “There is going to be interest. Gillingham are a selling club and they will sell for the right price and I’m ready for anything.”

Sancho’s agent, Mike Berry, wasted no time in trying to capitalise on the player’s success, claiming teams in England and abroad have made enquiries, but the player himself believes he still has plenty to prove at Gillingham, if he stays.

He said: “If I’m still at Gillingham then I’ll be fully concentrating on my goal which is to get them into the Championship."
