Double Olympic silver medallist Nick Rogers will be at Bewl Valley to meet 100 of the region’s young sailors at the RYA Volvo South East Zone Championship this weekend.

Rogers partnered Joe Glanfield to silver in the 470 Class of dingy sailing at the Beijing Games this summer, to add to their silver medal won in the same category at the Sydney Olympics four years ago.

Lymington-born Rogers will be on hand to meet and encourage competitiors in the regional event, hosted by Bewl Valley Sailing Club, which will be one of eight RYA Zone and Home Country Championships taking place across the UK simultaneously.

These championships are key events for young sailors hoping to be selected for the RYA and Home Country squads.
