TEENAGE keeper Chris Kiely will be on the bench for Gillingham's trip to Walsall on Saturday.
With Simon Royce suspended and Kelvin Jack unavailable the 18-year-old will act as understudy to Scottish keeper Derek Stillie at the weekend.
Kiely, the son of former Charlton keeper Dean Kiely, is a regular in the youth side and manager Mark Stimson isn’t afraid to use him.
“I've got no problems in putting him on the bench,” said Stimson. “From what we have seen of him in training, he is a very confident goalkeeper.
“He has got a good pair of hands but hasn't filled out as much yet due to his age. It's not a problem though because if it wasn't him, it would be Scott Barrett on the bench!”
Jack is due to fly out to the Trinidad to visit his father, who has been taken ill, while Royce serves a one match ban following Tuesday’s red card.
