CHINA captain Zheng Zhi was Charlton Reserves' match-winner as they opened their campaign in the Pontin's Holiday Combination Central with Tuesday night's 1-0 win away to Leyton Orient.
Zheng, who joined the Addicks from Shandong Luneng for £1.25million earlier this month following last season's successful spell on loan, thrust himself into contention for a starting place in Saturday's line-up at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
He won the match with a 78th minute header after James Walker and Danny Uchechi created the opening.
