After years of fervent opposition, a controversial park and ride scheme in Canterbury has been scrapped for good.The £3m Wincheap Park and Ride expansion was set to pave over the much-loved meadows nearby.But Canterbury City Council hit a bump in the road as road improvements nearby proved too difficult for Highways England - something campaigners warned from the start.
