Podcast: Hotel in Sandwich refuses £1 million opportunity to house asylum seekers

In today’s podcast, the boss of a hotel in Sandwich explains his decision to turn down more than £1million from the Government to house asylum seekers.


Richard Martin runs the Blazing Donkey in Ham and was approached by an agency who guaranteed 100 percent occupancy for a year.


However, he says it would have meant cancelling weddings and making most of his staff redundant.


 


It's been revealed Dartford is one of the most popular places in the county to live.
