THREE men are in custody in connection with an incident alleged to have taken place in Maidstone on October 17.

Andrew Reader, 45, of Cleveland House, Woodford Road, Maidstone; Grant Hodgson, 23, of Cambridge Crescent, Maidstone, and his 39-year-old father, Keith Hodgson, of Cornwallis Avenue, Gillingham, have been charged with kidnapping a man and causing him grievous bodily harm with intent.

A judge at Maidstone Crown Court, where the three appeared at a preliminary hearing today, was told that part of the incident, which happened on a Friday afternoon, had been captured on CCTV film.

Judge Warwick McKinnon refused bail applications made on behalf of all three, and they will remain in custody to await their next crown court appearance, a plea and directions hearing on December 29.
