A 43-year-old motorcyclist who died three days after being seriously injured in a road accident will be missed by so many, his family have said.
Father-of-two Nick Lockwood, from Wateringbury, died on Monday afternoon in King’s College Hospital, London, after the collision on the A249, near the Stockbury roundabout, last Friday.
The 43-year-old’s green Kawasaki was in a crash with a bronze Ford Fiesta on the Maidstone-bound carriageway near the Stockbury roundabout.
Mr Lockwood, who worked at Detling Aerodrome, had been travelling coastbound but completed a U-turn at the Hucking turn-off before accelerating in the direction of Maidstone, when it is believed he hit the back of the car.
In a statement, his family said: “Nicholas Lockwood was a much-loved father, brother, nephew, grandad and partner, of a very big family. He will be sadly missed by so many.
“Nick’s family and friends would like to say thank you for all the support they have received.”
The road was closed for about five hours to allow for an examination of the scene. and recover the vehicle involved.
Investigators are appealing for information after the incident. The Fiesta’s woman driver was uninjured.
