Despite heavy rain, scores of people turned out for Cranbrook's annual apple fair. The festival turned out to be better than ever even though the apple pressing was cancelled and the children's dance troupes were unable to perform in the rain. After a rotten summer and what seemed like never-ending rain in the autumn, it probably came as little surprise that November was cold enough at times for snow to fall.
