A motorcyclist has been injured in a crash with a car on the A20.

The incident, which happened at around 3pm, blocked Ashford Road in Bearsted in both directions.

Police, paramedics, fire crews and the air ambulance all rushed to the scene.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "The motorcyclist was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London with serious injuries."

Police have confirmed he suffered serious leg injuries which are not being described as life threatening.

Kent Highways warned motorists to expect long delays.

Emergency services were at the scene near the Shell garage.
