Drivers trying to get to work have faced long delays this morning after the A249 was partially closed.

A diesel spillage happened around 9am, causing one lane southbound towards the Stockbury roundabout to be closed.

The slow traffic was compounded in central Maidstone due to police investigating a separate incident in lower Stone Street.
