A person declined medical treatment after an accident blocked a main road and caused delays earlier this afternoon.

The crash happened along the A229 Royal Engineers Road, Maidstone.

Police were called and both lanes on the northbound approach to the Springfield roundabout were obstructed.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: "SECAmb attended this incident which was reported to us shortly before 3.40pm.

"One person declined treatment and we are clear from the scene."

Drivers were being warned to expect delays and slow traffic.

Kent County Council confirmed both lanes had reopened at 4.29pm.

Police have been contacted for comment.
