Actor Robert Powell will be returning to Leeds Castle this summer when the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra returns for a popular open air concert.
The concerts were held at the castle last summer after a two-year break.
The RPO will perform on Saturday, July 16, with ticket prices held at 2007 prices.
Robert Powell will be narrating with performances from leading tenor Wynne Evans and the Capital Voices, under the baton of respected conductor, John Rigby.
Mr Rigby said: “What a great show this is; 12,000 people all stood waving flags and as the Spitfires flew past, hairs stood on the back of my neck. I’m looking forward to next year already.”
Bill Lash, director of operation at Leeds Castle, said: “Following the clear success of this year’s event we are delighted that Heritage Special Events are bringing The Open Air Classical Concert back to Leeds Castle for a second year in 2011.
“This is more than a concert, however; with its diverse classical orchestral programme, interwoven with specially selected choral and solo pieces and the visual spectacle of military musicians, field guns, superb fireworks and iconic aircraft displays, this is a spectacular signature event which is unique to Leeds Castle.”
Tickets are on sale now at £34 each for picnic style and £44 in the seated areas. Buy on line at www.heritageevents.co.uk
