A new outdoor adventure playground has been officially unveiled on the hottest July day on record.
Perfectly coinciding with the school summer holidays and a sizzling heatwave the Mote Park Outdoor Adventure in Maidstone had a ribbon-cutting event today.
Set within the magnificent 450-acre park, the playground includes a sky trail, climbing wall, segways and mini dino golf.
The 32ft high sky trail has 2-tier rope walkways, narrow beams, walk the plank, and other fun obstacles, a safe way to get the adrenaline pumping and nerves jangling.
Youngsters can also enjoy a segway track, and test their strength, stamina, and co-ordination on the 32ft Climbing Wall.
The golf course even has dinosaur facts, including Iggy the dinosaur whose fossils were found in the Borough.
It has been open to visitors since early last month.
The play area is the first phase of a £4.3 million improvement plan for the county town's open space.
Also due for completion later this year, is the construction of visitor centre with a space for venue hire, a new café, toilets including baby changing facilities, and an estate services building all costing £2 million.
