A biker has been seriously injured after a collision with a car on the A20.

The air ambulance was called to the scene in Ashford Road, Lenham, near Maidstone shortly before 5pm today.

Traffic is building in the area and the road has been shut in both directions.

A police spokesman said: “We were was called at 4.54pm today to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a van in Ashford Road, Lenham.

“Officers are at the scene with other emergency services.

“The motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries.”
