A 79-year-old man remains in police custody after a woman was attacked at a block of retirement flats in Maidstone.
Police descended on Hengist Court in Marsham Street at 11am yesterday after the assault which left the victim with multiple serious injuries.
The air ambulance was seen to touch down in playing fields off New Cut Road in nearby Vinters Park, while a forensics van, four police cars and at least a dozen officers were also at the scene.

Hengist Court is sheltered housing made up of 73 self-contained retirement flats managed by a team of staff from First Port.
An eyewitness in Marsham Street told KentOnline: "A car was waiting to get through the barrier for a good five minutes. Looks like all systems go inside."
The victim was flown to a major trauma centre in the capital. Her condition is not known at this time.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "A 79-year-old from Maidstone has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody.
"Enquires are ongoing."
Kent Online has approached First Port for a comment.
