Ben Buet had a game to remember for Addington Village last Saturday as they remained top of Division 4 in the Shepherd Neame Kent League with a 130-run victory over Bexleyheath.
Opener Buet top scored with 68 in Addington’s total of 218-8 and then claimed 4-6 off 3.4 overs, including a hat-trick, as Bexleyheath were bowled out for 88.
The Mote have moved back up to second place in Division 1.
Lying fourth before last weekend’s matches, they leapfrogged Hythe and Whitstable thanks to a four-wicket success over bottom-of-the-table Orpington.
The Orpington wicket lived up to its reputation of being a tough one to bat on and off-spinner Tom Harvey helped to hurry the home side out for 103 with a spell of 5-9 from 8.3 overs.
But with the wicket beginning to crumble, The Mote found run-scoring equally difficult and they were grateful to James Hodgson (45) for guiding them home.
