One of the country's big four supermarkets, Morrisons, is offering all Kent teachers and school staff a special Covid Christmas present.

From Monday, school staff will be able to claim a 10% discount off their shopping in all of Morrisons' 492 stores nationwide.

The offer will last until after Christmas, with the chain estimating that half a million teachers and school staff will be eligible.

The firm said it was a thank-you to school staff for looking after the nation’s children through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Primary, secondary, private and special educational school teachers are all included, as are all teaching assistants, catering staff, dinner ladies, caretakers, cleaners and school office staff.

They just have to present their school photo ID at the till

The firm is already offering a 10% discount for NHS staff, which was introduced last April.

Morrisons chief executive David Potts said: “Teachers and school staff are facing many challenges and the education of our children has never been more important.

"This discount is our way of saying thank you as they continue to care for and educate our kids.”
